Mario Salinas shares his story: “I had to fight to be accepted”

Mario Salinas talks about resilience, courage and stuttering acceptance. Mario is a public speaker and a community organizer with an incredible life & professional story. Based in Texas, USA, Mario has been a Coordinator for the Pep Mueller Community Center in Aldine and is a former Community Partner for Houston in Action and former Texas Deputy Director for Mi Familia Vota. He serves on the Latino Initiatives Advisory Committee for the Holocaust Museum Houston, Vice President of Latino Giving Houston and was the recipient of a 2018 Comcast Hispanic Hero Award. Mario became a full-time community organizer in early 2014. He also co-founded the Emerging Latino Leaders Fellowship, and is committed to raise awareness about stuttering wherever he goes.
